Breakthroughs Fall 2011
Several years before food research centers began appearing in academic institutions across the United States, we did this special issue on sustainable farming practices and their connection to broader issues like health, labor, and biodiversity. It helped launch the Berkeley Center for Diversified Farming Systems, a research group that eventually was moved under the auspices of the Berkeley Food Institute. The investment in a high-quality location photo shoot paid off in the issue and many these photos are still used on various related websites.
