Breakthroughs Spring 2012

This cover story was easily the most complex and technical science the magazine ever featured. We decided to embrace the chemical connection to marijuana to create a surprising and controversial cover image, and we also reinforced the narrative with an infographic. The alumni profiles this issue were especially good "gets": a key agricultural leader in Afghanistan during the height of the war, and an NPR food reporter.
