Capture Your Family Stories
Oral History with Older Adults
Wedding dramas, family characters, life’s big successes, failures, and adventures… Capturing the meaningful personal stories of older adults enriches both the tellers and the listeners and preserves family history for future generations. As a local journalist trained in oral history, I’ve been preserving my own family’s stories, creating easy-to-share web pages and books - instead of filing away hours of audio files and transcripts.
I am now offering this service to others. Contact me to see samples and learn more about launching a project, an organizational package, or a grant application. [email protected]

Night Game
The parents of my generation are dying,
the last line of defense.
We're floodlit now, pals,
we're casting shadows,
the shapes of our bodies
distinct on this earth.
Who will catch
the pass,
the ball that's sewn
from skin?

Family oral history…
- Celebrates the value of an older adult's most pivotal life experiences.
- Gifts existing and future generations with the storytellers’ preserved memories, voices, and first-hand accounts.
- Supports organizations that have a mission to serve older adults, providing a life-affirming service for the storytellers and their families, while building a lasting record of the community an organization serves.
